Spexit delayed!

We dragged our suitcases for two kilometres! To save money. Sometimes, we walk for an hour to save 15 euros; sometimes we spend 15 extra euros to save an hour. Life’s like that.

We, Trung and me, are back in Lleida, Spain, waiting for the decision for the Canadian visa where we have planned to go for our Applied Period (internship). Still, after 3 months of waiting, we decided to wait for one more week hoping to get the visa. But now after the end of the field course 2 days ago, everything is our own responsibility; there’s nobody to take care of us.

After spending two nights in a hotel, we came to the conclusion that we will run out of money if we have to spend at the rate of what we had to spend in the last two days for foods and accommodation, before going to the UBC, Canada. So we have to save money, spending time, wherever possible. So we dragged our suitcases. Unfortunately, my suitcase which was already lame with only 3 wheels, lost another wheel on the way which made dragging more difficult. A strange guy on the way stopped me and suggested me to drag it making use of the two remaining breadth-side wheels (which I did for a long time and got tired of balancing more than the dragging itself). I ‘gracias-ed’ him and followed his advice for a while again. Anyway, we find kind-hearted people everywhere. Oh, one more thing – when you travel, you find more beautiful/handsome people than your crush, who you think is the most beautiful/handsome people you have ever met (beautiful/handsome by heart I mean)! 😛

Life these days:

The lady, whose home we are staying at now, does not understand English and we do not understand Spanish. Thank god, there is ‘google translate’. (Thanks also to Anamika who arranged this place for us to live and helped gain a new experience in life). She tells to google whatever she wants to tell us, in Spanish, and google tells us it in English. We do the same to google, in English, and it tells her in Spanish. Lol, this will be our routine for at least a week. Well, it is the human feelings that matter, more than the language.

I buy a can of coke and ask the price. They say something in Spanish. I do not understand. I just grab a handful of  coins from my pocket and put in front of them – ‘Take as much as you want!’ 🤣

We go to a Chinese restaurant looking for rice, show the picture of the dish and say – ‘This but no meat, eggs or fish.’ Maybe he understands. But later he comes with rice fried with eggs. We show our disquiet pointing to the eggs. He thinks deeply and goes as if he understands this time. And yes, he brings without eggs this time.

A kid who is sitting on the lap of his father on the other table looks at us and laughs as if he has known us since ages. We wink eyes and make expressions on face and he laughs even more. We forget everything, even where we are, and play with him for a long time; a play where nothing other than smiles/laughs are needed.

Well, life is all about experiences they say. We are gaining some new experiences. A little bit of stress, some thrills, new experiences, new peoples, new places, some boredom (Trung frequently checks the time in Canada to see if he will get some new updates from there 😀 ) and so on…

And, this will probably be the last post from the field trip. If we get a Canadian visa, I will tell more experiences from Canada. Else, I will write regular posts anyway whenever I have time. (and whenever I have some new experiences of course). Thanks for visiting and reading until now. Thank you all for your love and encouragement.

Love and bye from Spain.
