Twelve hours after Leaving the most leaveable, oops sorry, ‘Liveable’ city ~ Vienna (Austria), we arrived at the Strasbourg Train Station, on 13th. Then we went to Alsace, a historical region in NorthEastern France. The objectives were to watch and understand Oak and Pine forests/silviculture in the region. We spent two days there.
Our professor Yves Ehrhart is as good in history as he is in forestry. We learnt many things about the history and architecture of this historical region.
The third day, we worked together with the colleagues of AgroParis Tech, Nancy and the University of Lorraine and learnt the techniques of species identification before coming here to Nancy.
In Nancy, we already spent three days. Yesterday, we visited Grand Est – Nancy, one of the 17 regional offices of INRA and learnt about forest research.
There was a dinner organized by IFSA, yesterday. We enjoyed and made new French friends. Today is a free day. An optional touristic visit of the Nancy city was scheduled, but all of are so tired and decided to take rest today.
Tomorrow, after lunch, we will leave for Freiburg, Germany. But I will come here again for my second year, in September.
à plus, Nancy!
